Petition Week: Monday, April 29 - Friday, May 3

In order to be an official candidate, those interested must receive written support from 100 GCC students in order to meet eligibility requirements. This will be submitted in a petition packet to the Office of Student Affairs by Friday, May 3 at 11:59 PM.

Voting Week: Monday, May 13 - Saturday, May 18

Eligible students will be sent a voting link via email. There will also be an in-person voting booth (see below for the location and time).

Informational Meetings

Those interested in running for an Executive position MUST attend one (1) informational meeting held during Petition Week. This meeting will discuss the ASGCC Election Code, requirements for candidacy, and expectations should you be elected as a VP/ASGCC President. Below are the meeting dates/times/locations

Monday, April 29: 4-5 PM (Zoom)

Tuesday, April 30: 12:30-1:30 PM (SM 249)

Wednesday, May 1: 4-5 PM (Zoom)

Thursday, May 2: 12:30-1:30 PM (SM 249)

Thursday, May 2: 5:30-6:30 PM (Zoom)

Election Events

As people who are voting, you should know who the candidates are and what their plans are for GCC.

Candidate Forum: Tuesday, May 7 from 12-2 PM in SC 212 You will be able to anonymously submit questions for the candidates through an online form on this page! All candidates will be given the opportunity to share their goals for the next school year and answer moderated questions.

Election Fair: Tuesday, May 14 from 12-2 PM in Plaza Vaquero

Candidates will be encouraged to set up their own booths for students to approach and ask questions/learn more information about their candidacy. Students will also be able to learn about Senator positions for ASGCC. The Senator application for Fall 2024 is already out! Please see our Become a Student Leader page for more information.

AS Election Voting Center: Thursday, May 16 from 9 AM - 4 PM in SC 212

Eligible students will also have the opportunity to vote in-person. Voters' name and GCC ID will be verified before voting.

Why should I vote?

The ASGCC is responsible for assisting the college in making crucial decisions for the entire student body and maintaining all other areas of student life on campus. Your vote will directly impact who gets to help make these decisions!

When and where will I know the results of the Election?

The results will be posted by Monday, May 20th on the Elections page of the ASGCC website: http://www.associatedstudentsgcc.com. Delays will be made at the discretion of the Election Committee.
