School On Wheels GCC

Mission: The GCC School on Wheels Club is a student-led chapter of the nonprofit organization School On Wheels, which provides free tutoring and educational support to children experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to host fundraising events and donation drives throughout the academic year, collecting backpacks, school supplies, hygiene kits, and other essentials to donate directly to the students we serve. In addition, we will also support the efforts of the organization by locally recruiting and training GCC students to become volunteer tutors and mentors for unhoused K-12 youth. We believe that consistent academic support and encouragement can help close learning gaps and empower students to succeed. We also aim to raise awareness about homelessness and educational inequality through campus events and community outreach. By combining service, advocacy, and compassion, we seek to uplift vulnerable students and build a more equitable future.
