Food For Thought Club

Mission: Food for Thought Club is committed to equipping students with the knowledge to make informed, evidence-based decisions about the food and personal care products they use every day. Our mission is to educate our campus community about chemical additives, food processing, ingredient labeling, nutrition, marketing practices, and other factors that influence long-term health. We challenge common misconceptions about food and nutrition by examining current scientific research on chemical additives, identifying which ingredients may pose health concerns, and teaching members how to recognize them on product labels. We also provide practical strategies for reducing exposure to unnecessary additives while maintaining a realistic budget, demonstrating that healthier choices can be accessible rather than expensive. In addition, we promote awareness of ingredients commonly found in soaps, skincare, and other personal care products to encourage informed consumer decisions beyond nutrition alone. Through discussions, educational workshops, collaborative learning, and volunteer opportunities, Food for Thought aims to cultivate critical thinking, media literacy, and lifelong healthy habits. Our goal is not to tell people what they must eat or buy, but to provide the knowledge and tools needed for every individual to make confident, informed choices about their health and well-being.
