Mission: The Glendale Community College Pom Squad is a student-led Woman centered dance club dedicated to promoting school spirit, teamwork, leadership, and athletic performance through pom dance. Pom is a style of dance that combines sharp, synchronized motions, precision, clean technique, visual formations, and the use of pom-poms. Performances may include elements of jazz, hip-hop, kick, and other dance styles while emphasizing synchronization and energy. The GCC Pom Squad is not a cheerleading team. Members do not perform stunts, tumbling, pyramids, or partner lifts. Instead, the organization focuses on dance performances that entertain and engage the campus community while representing Glendale Community College with professionalism and pride. The purpose of the Pom Squad is to provide students with opportunities to improve their dance abilities, develop leadership skills, build friendships, and encourage school spirit throughout the campus. The squad serves as ambassadors for Glendale Community College by performing at athletic events, including football and basketball games, pep rallies, campus celebrations, student organization events, community outreach events, and other college-sponsored activities as approved by the college. The Pom Squad is committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and respectful environment where members of all experience levels are welcome.
