Urartian Seeds Project

Mission Statement: The Urartian Seeds Project originally started as a Pulitzer Center Campus Consortium reporting project focused on Armenian culture, history, identity, and cultural preservation. Through this project, I was able to explore the importance of keeping Armenian culture alive and passing it on to future generations. I hope to continue that work by expanding Urartian Seeds into a student club at GCC where students can come together to learn about, celebrate, and preserve Armenian culture. The club will create opportunities for students to attend cultural events, hear from guest speakers, participate in discussions, and learn more about Armenian history, traditions, language, music, art, and identity. It will also connect students with Armenian organizations, community leaders, artists, historians, and others who are working to preserve Armenian culture. One of the main goals of the club will be to make cultural preservation something students can actively participate in and care about. Although the club will be centered around Armenian culture, it will be open to everyone who is interested in learning, participating, and supporting the preservation of culture and heritage for future generations.
